Today marks a huge milestone for me. On April 1, 2011 I stepped on the scale it rolled around to 266 pounds. That was the day I was really beginning my trek towards health. My target weight is 200. As of today I’ve dropped 33 pounds, which is 50% of my goal.
The first 33 pounds wasn’t easy to lose. And the difficulty was all in my head. I fell off the wagon and had a couple of false re-starts before jumping back up on the wagon, taking the reins and whipping the horses into a gallop. In the last 26 days I’ve evicted 17 pounds from my body.

But I've kept the juicy booty.
I’ve read that a pound of fat takes up about the same amount of space as a pound of butter, so I’ve lost the equivalent of 68 sticks of butter in the past 26 days. A standard bowling ball only weights 16 pounds. Imagine carrying around a bowling ball 24/7. You could say that I’ve “dropped the ball”, but in a good way.
During this entire month I’ve been using the treadmill primarily for walking. My plan was to start running two or three times a week in February. This morning I had the urge to run, and ended up running for twenty minutes. When it warms up, I’m looking forward to being able to get outside and run.
I know the next 33 won’t be as easy to lose as the first 33, but there were times when even this much didn’t seem possible. Hard work has paid off so far, and I’m looking forward to that hard work becoming easier and more fun as the weeks and pounds fall before me.
Comments are always welcomed.

Right fucking on!!! You keep it up – I’m glad I shed my rucksack of weight last year and you will be too.
Seeing what you’ve been able to do has helped to inspire me, dude.
