I’ve been on my self-designed program for three weeks and I’m doing well. Just looking at my workout calendar I’m estimating my workouts this week averaged 40 minutes, not counting evening walks which I count but do not figure into my “official” workouts.
Food-wise I’m doing well because I’m sticking to my schedule. The single exception was Thursday when I missed two of my three snacks during the day and had an after dinner snack of a serving of nilla wafers. My wife brought home a big bag of wasabi peas for me yesterday and I divided it up into about ten 1/3 cup baggies and added it to my snack box.
The last couple of days I’ve had some trouble blogging. Thursday I wrote a post and then decided it was pure garbage and deleted it – which is okay. Posting something I don’t really like is worse than posting nothing I think. On Friday the boy didn’t have school which makes it impossible for me to concentrate.
This week I dropped three more pounds for a total of 14 pounds lost in 21 days. My weight loss goal is a pound a week. I knew the first week would be more than that, and I’m happy that the following weeks were more than my goal too. So I’m pretty happy about the results. I’m building muscle, which weighs more than fat, so a pound a week feel like a healthy goal amount. Besides, this is a long-term process, not a sprint.
Other than feeling very weak and noodle-like from the intense weight lifting I just finished, I’m feeling great. Not carrying around that extra fourteen pounds is really nice. Knowing that I’m eating right makes me feel pretty good too. And just having a positive and constructive outlook on things is just beyond wonderful.
I’m looking forward to week number four!
